SEPANG, 4 November 2016 - AirAsia continues to grow its Johor Bahru hub by introducing another new route connecting the southern state of Malaysia directly to Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia with
three times weekly flights which will commence operations on 10 January 2017.
Apart from that, AirAsia will also be recommencing flights from Kuala Lumpur to Solo, beginning 17 January 2017.
Spencer Lee, Head of Commercial of AirAsia Berhad said “Over the past year, we have worked hard to strengthen our connectivity from other hubs in Malaysia. We are delighted to announce another international route connecting not only Johoreans, but the Southern community directly to Jakarta; as well as providing more links for Indonesians to come to different points in Malaysia.”
The AirAsia Group (Malaysia AirAsia and Indonesia AirAsia) currently operates125 weekly flights into Johor Bahru’ Senai International Airport, inclusive of both domestic and international flights. Jakarta, with a population about 23 million people is the largest city in Indonesia and was once a bustling port which has evolved into an exciting and modern hub with deeply-rooted traditions weaved in between.
Solo, a quieter version of its “twin sister” Yogyakarta located 65 kilometres away, embodies the refined and sophisticated ideals of the Javanese culture that is authentic Indonesian experience.
