Philippine Airlines is among the new batch of airlines added to the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) PreCheck program.
Passengers on the TSA PreCheck program flying on Philippine Airline flights from from Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York JFK, Honolulu, and Guam can now use the designated PreCheck lanes. To avail this, the traveller would have to provide their known traveller number (KTN) when booking their flights with the airline. Also, the name, date of birth, and gender on the reservation should match their TSA PreCheck application.
The TSA PreCheck program allows for faster and convenient security screening at US airports. Using the PreCheck lanes, travellers would no longer need to remove their shoes, belts, and jackets. Passengers will still need to adhere to other security requirements such as restrictions on carrying liquids on board and other prohibited items.
"As the airline operating the greatest number of routes and flights from the US to the Philippines, PAL is always looking for ways to make the travel experience more comfortable for our valued customers," PAL president and chief operating officer Jaime Bautista said in a statement last Thursday, February 1.
"Travelers who are US citizens, US nationals and lawful permanent residents of the US" are eligible for enrollment into the program, the TSA said in its website. Members of the other TSA program such as Global Entry, Sentri, and Nexus can also use PreCheck at the airport. Since its beginning in 2011, there are around 5 million members on the program who can use the service with 47 participating US and international airlines.
