Cebu will be getting another connection to China with the addition of flights from China Southern.

According to RoutesOnline, the Guangzhou-based carrier will launch its newest route to the Philippines – Guangzhou to Cebu – starting on January 22, 2019. The flights will operate on a thrice-weekly service using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The new Cebu service will be China Southern’s second destination in the Philippines, complementing its services to the country from Manila to Guangzhou and Wuhan.

On the Cebu-Guangzhou route, it will compete with Shanghai-based China Eastern Airlines which started its flights in June of 2017.
