Criteria

The Punctuality League Report is based on 58 million global flight records to create the best on-time performance (OTP) for airlines and airports. OAG defines on-time performance as flights that arrive or depart within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival/departure times for regularly scheduled commercial flights.

Airlines categories were divided for overall, mega (world’s top 20 large carriers), mainline (non-low cost/top 250), and low cost carriers. OAG also top 20 lists for different regions.

Airport categories were based on the number of departing seats available. The categories were small (less than 5 million), medium (5-10 million), large (10-20 million), major (20-30 million), and mega (over 30 million).
