The central Philippine island of Cebu is getting another international connection with AirAsia as the carrier will launch new flights to Kaohsiung.

First reported on RoutesOnline, the new Cebu-Kaohsiung service will begin on August 1, 2019 and will operate on a thrice-weekly schedule. The new flights will be first regularly scheduled air service between the two cities, with the flights operated by Philippines AirAsia which also operates flights from Kaohsiung to Manila.

Kaohsiung is the second largest city of Taiwan located in the southern part of the country, home to businesses in the manufacturing, steel-making, oil refining, freight, and ship-building industries.

With the addition of Kaohsiung, AirAsia will connect Cebu to 7 international destinations that already include Seoul-Incheon, Shenzhen, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, and Macau.
