As Guangzhou-based China Southern expects to welcome the first of its 20 Airbus A350s this year, the airline will be introducing a new business class seat for the aircraft.
The new seat will be the recently released CL6710 seat from German-based aircraft seat maker Recaro made for airlines operating long-haul routes. The seats will feature direct access to the aisle and will give customers an option to sit near a window or the aisle. Along with the storage compartments and connections for devices, the seat can be adjusted to be a lie-flat bed.
In May, China-based FATIII Aviation Tweeted the first image of how the seat will look like.
China Southern’s first Airbus A350-900 is currently going through final prep work before being delivered to the airline later this year. It will have a configuration of 314 seats – 28 Business, 24 Premium Economy and 262 Economy seats.
When it enters service, China Southern will introduce the aircraft on the Guangzhou-Beijing route which usually uses large aircraft such as the Airbus A380. The 20 A350s will be delivered starting this year until 2023.
