To meet the growing demands of its aviation industry, Thailand is considering a third airport to serve the Bangkok area.

With an estimated cost of around THB 20 Billion (~USD $648.6 million), government officials have proposed the third airport located in the western metro Bangkok’s Nakhon Pathom province. Located around 57 kilometers west of Bangkok, the planned airport would take up around 3,500 rai (5.6 sq km) of land with a capacity of around 25 million passengers per year.
