Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) is seeking input from the flying public as to what items would be featured on its inflight menu.
The Tokyo-based carrier announced the continuation of its annual vote which ANA has reached out to travelers as to what should be included on the offerings for Premium Economy and Economy Passengers.
ANA's annual vote usually introduces new dishes made by the airline's chef team referred to as "The Conoisseurs" with two voting periods: one for dishes from eastern Japan and another from western Japan.
The first voting period will take place for the eastern-inspired dishes until October 17, while the second period for western Japan dishes will last until October 27. Both votes will see the top two dishes from each category offered on ANA's international flights departing Japan starting March 2020. ANA will announce the top dishes in February 2020.
This year's competition will feature 10 donburi dishes based on the tastes of 10 regions in Japan. ANA has released the details on the first five dishes for the eastern Japan vote.
“We are always looking for new ways to give our passengers a voice and inviting their input on the services that we offer in order to create a more responsive airline,” said Hideki Kunugi, Executive Vice President of ANA. “Voting via the internet and social media platforms is a fun way for the public to make their opinion heard and ensure that our offerings align with their interests. ANA will continue prioritizing consumer input as we align every aspect of the in-flight experience with passenger needs.”
