Singapore Airlines announced it will be introducing a wider range of meal options for economy class travelers on short-haul flights starting next month.
Developed by the airline and its catering partner SATS, the airline will be offering a rotation of more than 40 dishes on different flights including popular dishes from Singapore and the region including Nasi Lemak, Congee, Mee Siam, Thai Green Curry Chicken, and Laksa.
The new meal concept will be available on most short-haul flights operated by Singapore Airlines and SilkAir that are less than 3.5 hours except on flights to Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Medan starting December 1.
The meals will be served in a new packaging featuring a leak-proof box and cup made of Forest Stewardship Council certified paper, a dessert box and a cutlery pack made of bamboo with a paper wrap. According to the airline, the box was designed to be “both versatile and eco-friendly, and yet also enhances taste, variety and meal quality.”
