Taiwanese-based startup airline Starlux Airlines is further carrying out its expansion plans with the addition of Kuala Lumpur to its network.

In an alert on its website released on November 27, Starlux will start flights between Taipei and Kuala Lumpur starting January 5. According to the airline, the flights will operate on a twice-weekly schedule (Tuesday/Friday).

Kuala Lumpur will be the second destination for the airline as it currently operates flights to Penang. The capital of Malaysia will be the seventh destination in the Starlux network when it starts.

The flight schedule is as follows:

Taipei-Kuala Lumpur JX725 ETD: 1015H ETA:1515H (Tuesday/Friday)

Kuala Lumpur-Taipei JX726 ETD: 1615H ETA: 2105H

Th addition of flights to Kuala Lumpur comes after separate annoucements of new routes and future long-haul flight plans in November. Starlux recently filed with Taiwanese aviation authorities for rights to 15 US destinations. Since flights resumed during the summer, the airline has announced plans to launch flights to Osaka, Tokyo, Bangkok in December. 

Starlux previously launched its maiden flights in January to Penang, Macau, and Da Nang in January. After operations were suspended amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the airline has since resumed operations. The airline currently operates a fleet of four narrowbody Airbus A321neos.
