In anticipation of further increases in international flight frequenicies, Philippine Airlines is opening its in-house COVID-19 testing facility for customers booked on the airline's international or domestic flights.
Starting December 1, the airline will open the facility – located at the airline's learning center at Ermita, Manila – for travelers to get their RT-PCR test before their Philippine Airlines' flights. The airline states the results will be released within 12 to 24 hours.
The facility at the Philippine Airlines' Learning Center is part of a partnership with Detoxicare Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, the airline's Philippine Department of Health-accredited partner.
While the regular cost of the test is PHP4500 (~USD $93), the airline is offering a PHP500 discount with a Philippine Airline ticket.
Travelers with bookings on Philippine Airlines will be required to present a valid ID, their ticket, and the QR code provided upon completion of the airline's Passenger Profile and Health Declaration form. Customers with bookings to all destinations except the US, Australia, and Canada are required to complete the online Passenger Profile and Health Declaration form within 5 days before departure.
Along with the use of the Philippine Airlines' Learning Center at Manila, the airline currently partners with 8 companies who have 50 branches throughout the provinces providing the necessary COVID-19 testing for travelers. Fees and the time for the results to be released vary among the testing partners.
