Thai AirAsia X has announced it will be operating four routes connecting Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi with South Korea and Japan in the upcoming months.

According to a release from Thai AirAsia X, the carrier will be operating flights from Suvarnabhumi to Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, and Sapporo with plans to increase services on the routes up to daily by October.

As the airline currently operates flights to Seoul, Thai AirAsia X will resume the direct flights to Tokyo in July followed by the resumption of flights to Osaka and Sapporo in October.

By October, Thai AirAsia X plans to operate daily flights between Suvarnabhumi to Seoul, Tokyo, and Osaka. The airline will also operate four weekly flights to Sapporo.

“With the improving COVID-19 situation, the airline has been able to continually reopen routes. The Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi)-Seoul route has proven to be hugely popular with 95 percent of available seats pre-booked for June. Flights to Japan are next to resume in accordance with the Japanese government’s travel policy, with direct flights to Tokyo starting this July and followed Osaka and Sapporo in October 2022,” Thai AirAsia X CEO Patima Jeerapaet said in a statement.

With the carrier going through its rehabilitation process, Thai AirAsia X reports it expects to close the year with 300,000 passengers with an average load factor of 85% for the remaining half of 2022. The airline will have a fleet of five Airbus A330s by the end of the year.
