Thai VietJet will launch the first direct connection between Osaka, Japan and Chiang Mai, Thailand next month.

From February 16, Thai VietJet will commence thrice-weekly flights between Chiang Mai and Osaka-Kansai. The airline will use its Airbus A321 aircraft with 208 seats in an all-Economy Class configuration.

“The upcoming new service launch between Chiang Mai and Osaka marks another significant milestone for Thai Vietjet,” said Woranate Laprabang, CEO, Thai VietJet.

“We believe that by launching our new service this time, we will be able to offer opportunities for Thai passengers to visit Osaka as well as passengers from Japan, particularly from Osaka, to travel to the beautiful city of Chiang Mai at an affordable price while providing high quality and comfortable service,” Laprabang added.

The launch of the Chiang Mai-Kansai flights will add to the airlines' services to Japan. Thai VietJet currently operates daily flights between Bangkok and Fukuoka.
