All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced enhancements of its inflight internet services onboard its domestic and international routes.

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced enhancements of its inflight internet services  onboard its domestic and international routes.

The Tokyo, Japan-based airline announced the expansion of its inflight internet service capabilities will include video streaming  - including YouTube - onboard all domestic aircraft and on its A320neo international aircraft starting June 13. Previously limited to web browsing and email, the addition is enabled by a significant increase in communication bandwidth between the aircraft and satellite.

ANA will also resume inflight internet service onboard its Boeing 767-300ER aircraft starting in August following upgrades with the inflight internet equipment from Viasat. Following the upgrades, inflight internet service – including video view via streaming – will be available free of charge in all cabin classes.

The first 767-300ER aircraft that will have internet access resumed will be JA625A, followed by three more aircraft within FY2025. Internet access will be available on the rest of the 767-300ER fleet within FY2026.

Additionally, ANA will equip its future international aircraft and renovate existing aircraft excluding the 767-300ERs with the latest inflight internet equipment.

"To offer our passengers a superior travel journey, ANA is leveraging the latest technology for their inflight experience," said Tomoji Ishii, Executive Vice President, Customer Experience, ANA. "By expanding our capabilities, including video streaming and complimentary access, we are giving travelers more opportunities to stay connected and entertained onboard."

ANA began offering complimentary inflight service for Business Class passengers on international routes, along with free text messaging for Premium Economy and Economy Class passengers in 2024.
