All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced its plans to launch free, high-speed internet for all passengers on international routes. The Tokyo, Japan-based carrier will equip more than 80% of its international fleet with the equipment for the inflight internet services by 2030.

According to ANA, the introduction of the inflight internet services for all cabins will start on select Boeing 767-300ER aircraft used on international routes. Starting with its 202-seat 767-300ER with the registration JA625A, the airline will have inflight internet systems progressively installed on a total of 43 aircraft.

Following the installation of the inflight internet equipment on JA625A, five more 767-300ERs (total six) will be equipped to offer inflight internet during FY2026. The 767s will be followed by 18 777-9s and 19 787-9s starting from FY2026.

ANA's inflight internet equipment on the 43 aircraft used on international flights will be powered by Viasat. Viasat has stated ANA will use its next generation Viasat Amara solution onboard its aircraft.

"The integration of Viasat's Wi-Fi equipment enables the B767-300ER aircraft to offer a seamless and stay connected internet experience, mirroring ground-level performance," said Tomoji Ishii, Executive Vice President, Customer Experience of ANA. "ANA is committed to strengthening its in-flight connectivity and will continue delivering future improvements to enhance customer convenience."

"As ANA's passengers increasingly value staying connected in-flight with high-speed Wi-Fi, especially on international routes, we are honored to support ANA in offering free, streaming in-flight internet on Viasat-equipped aircraft," said Mark Dankberg, Chairman & CEO, Viasat, Inc.

Onboard ANA's international flights, inflight internet services are complimentary for First/Business Class passengers onboard the A380/787/777 and on select 767s. Passengers in Premium and Economy Class onboard the A380/787/777 aircraft do have the option for paid access. Inflight internet is not available on its A320 and non-equipped 767 aircraft.
