Following the acquisition of Asiana Airlines' cargo business by Air Incheon, the South Korean cargo carrier has rebranded its business to become AIRZETA.

"Our company has completed the necessary procedures for the division of the business of Asiana Airlines, Inc. that involves the transportation of international cargo using freighters and related businesses, followed by a merger by absorption into our company," said AIRZETA.

The rebrand was announced during a ceremony at Incheon International Airport ahead of the flight flight as AIRZETA from Incheon on August 1 – the same day of the takeover completion date.

AIRZETA will continue to use Air Incheon's IATA and ICAO designations KJ and AIH.

As part of the conditions of the European Union (EU) for the approval of the merger between Korean Air and Asiana, Asiana was required to sell its cargo business to the former Air Incheon in a sale worth around KRW 470 million (~USD $340 million).

Through the acquisition of Asiana's cargo business, AIRZETA took on 10 Boeing 747F and one 767F which adds to its previously owned fleet of 4 smaller 737-800F. The airline plans to operate on 21 strategic routes and is now the second-largest cargo carrier in South Korea following Korean Air. In 2024, Korean Air held 67% of the cargo market.

Combined with Asiana's former cargo division, AIRZETA will now have around 1000 employees.
