After previous reports, Air Premia and the operator of Washington Dulles International Airport have confirmed the South Korean hybrid airline will launch flights to the capital of the United States starting April 24, 2026.

In a release from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) posted on December 12 and an announcement from Air Premia, the airline will launch its new four-times weekly service (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) between Incheon International Airport near Seoul and Dulles Airport. The outbound flight will depart as YP135 from Incheon at 1005H and arrive at 1050H. The return flight – YP136 – will depart Dulles at 1320H and arrive the following day back at Incheon at 1745H. Air Premia will use its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on the route with 320 Premium Economy and Economy seats.

At present, Korean Air operates a daily flight on the Incheon-Dulles route which serves the US's National Capital Region – home to the second largest Korean-born population along the US East Coast. According to data from South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLITT), the route saw over 175,000 travelers in 2024. As of November of this year, over 158,000 have flown on the route in 2025.

“The launch of our Washington service marks a significant milestone in Air Premia’s expansion across North America,” said Myungsub Yoo, CEO, Air Premia. “By connecting Seoul with Washington, the political and economic hub of the United States, we aim to offer optimized service for both business and leisure travelers. Air Premia will continue to expand its global network to provide customers with a wider range of choices and a higher level of service.”

“We extend a warm welcome to Air Premia at Washington Dulles International Airport, with nonstop service to their global hub at Incheon International Airport in Seoul, South Korea,” said Jack Potter, President and CEO, MWAA. “As part of our ongoing commitment to expand global connections, growing air service between Washington, D.C. and Asia has been a strategic goal for MWAA. This new route strengthens the U.S., Capital Region’s position as a gateway to the world and is expected to generate more than $50 million in local economic impact annually.”

With the addition of Dulles – a main international gateway to the Washington DC area – Air Premia will offer flights to five cities in the US, including two on the East Coast. The airline operates flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, and New York-Newark.

According to data from Air Premia's website, around half of the airline's 765,000 passengers served in 2024 flew onboard flights to/from the US (387,200). The airline recently reported it reached a million passengers carried for the year 2025.
