AirAsia Malaysia will become the only airline to offer flights to all 10 countries in ASEAN when it resumes flights to Vientiane, Laos this summer.

From July 2, AirAsia Malaysia will resume flights between Kuala Lumpur and Vientiane. The airline will operate two weekly flights on the route (every Tuesday and Saturday).

“AirAsia remains dedicated to serving the people in the region and the completion of our network to all 10 Asean countries is a significant step towards growing the region while making the world smaller,” said Bo Lingam, Group CEO, AirAsia Aviation Group.

Prior to the pandemic, AirAsia flew close to 50,000 travelers between Kuala Lumpur and Vientiane. With the resumption of the flights to Vientiane, AirAsia aims to support Lao government's aim to attract 2.7 million foreign tourists in 2024.

AirAsia Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur-Vientiane route will be the second group route to the capital of Laos, following Thai AirAsia's flights to Bangkok-Don Mueang.
