AirAsia's Philippine-based subsidiary AirAsia Philippines will expand its network from the central Philippine city of Cebu with the reopening of three domestic routes to Iloilo, Caticlan (Boracay), and Davao, along with international flights to Kuala Lumpur and Macau starting November 15.
According to AirAsia Philippines, bookings for travel on the newly announced routes to/from Cebu will start on September 3.
“Cebu remains a major driver in realizing our growth story in the Philippines. We recognize the value of this very important route, connecting via Cebu to key domestic and international leisure markets,” said AirAsia Philippines President & Chief Executive Officer Suresh Bangah.
The five routes from Cebu will see the use of AirAsia Philippines Airbus A320 aircraft, and will be supported by the hundreds of pilots and cabin crew who joined the airline following a recent recruitment drive.
Bangah added: “We look forward to further broadening opportunities in the tourism sector, helping generate jobs and ultimately contributing to inclusive economic growth. This initiative also allowed us to welcome new allstar pilots, cabin crew and ramp agents who will augment the manpower requirements.”
From Cebu, AirAsia Philippines currently operates flights to/from Manila.
