AirAsia Philippines is expanding its international network from its Cebu hub in the central Philippines with a new route to Bangkok. The airline also announced it will boost its flights to Taipei, Kaoshiung, and Macao during the summer.

From June 11, the Philippine-based AirAsia subsidiary will operate daily flights between the Mactan Cebu Airport and Bangkok Don Mueang Airport. The outbound flight Z27330 will depart Cebu for Don Mueang at 0405H and arrive at 0705H. The return flight Z27331 will depart Don Mueang at 0735H before arriving back at Cebu at 1230H.

Don Mueang Airport – one of the two international gateways to the Thai capital city of Bangkok – is one of AirAsia Aviation Group's major hubs.

Bangkok will be the third international route operated by AirAsia Philippines from Cebu, along with Kuala Lumpur and Macao. In addition, the airline operates domestic flights from Cebu to Caticlan, Davao, and Iloilo.

Cebu Pacific currently is the lone airline operating flights between Cebu and Bangkok Don Mueang.

Service Increases From Manila

In addition to the announcement of the new Cebu-Bangkok route, AirAsia Philippines will increase its flights from Manila on three international routes – Taipei Taoyuan, Kaoshiung, and Macao.

From March 30, the airline will add five additional weekly flights between Manila and Taipei. The airline will also add four additional weekly flights on the Manila-Kaoshiung route on April 3. Three more weekly flights will be added on the Manila-Macao route on April 4.
