AirAsia X will add a new connection in mainland China with the resumption of flights to Changsha.

From July 5, the long-haul arm of AirAsia will operate four weekly flights from Kuala Lumpur to Changsha – the capital and largest city of China's Hunan Province. The flights will be operated every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

“China has always been one of our most popular markets and continues to be amongst our fastest growing markets. Today’s announcement means we are further strengthening our foothold in one of the world’s largest counties where we have historically maintained a robust presence as the largest low cost foreign carrier in the region,” said Benyamin Ismail, CEO, AirAsia X.

According to AirAsia X, the airline served over 140,000 passengers on its flights to/from Changsha in 2019.

Changsha will be AirAsia X's sixth route to China, complementing AirAsia Malaysia's services to 12 cities in the Chinese mainland.
