From June 16, AirAsia will operate four weekly flights (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) – the first from Kota Bharu in northern Malaysia to any point in Indonesia.
AirAsia operates over 370 weekly flights between Malaysia and Indonesia. The airline carried 3 million passengers between the two countries in 2025.
The new route to Jakarta will be the second international route from Kota Bharu. Singapore Airlines' budget subsidiary Scoot currently operates flights to Singapore.
