AirAsia has announced its expansion in India with the launch of new routes to Kozhikode and Guwahti.


From August 1, AirAsia Malaysia (AK) will launch three weekly flights each to both cities in India from its hub at Kuala Lumpur. Both cities will be the airline's 14th and 15th routes to the country, and AirAsia Malaysia will be lone carrier offering flights both cities from the Malaysian capital.


“We are accelerating in India, one of AirAsia’s biggest markets, with two brand new routes to these renowned destinations. Both Kozhikode and Guwahati boast immense tourism potential, each offering its own unique charm,” sand Paul Caroll, Group Chief Commercial Officer, AirAsia.


Kozhikode – referred also as Calicut – is located in the southern Indian state of Kerala. Guwahati is located in the northeast state of Assam.
