Alaska Airlines has announced the addition of Philippine Airlines as its newest global partner.

Building upon the current codeshare partnership between Hawaiian Airlines and Philippine Airlines, Alaska Airlines stated that its customers will be able to book flights with the Manila-based Philippine Airlines on its website, and earn/redeem Mileage Plan points on Philippine Airlines-operated flights.

The Seattle, Washington-based airline added it will be Philippine Airlines' first loyalty partner in North America, and will open travel opportunities for its customers to popular Philippine resort destinations such as Palawan and Boracay.

“Philippine Airlines is a terrific addition to our roster of global airlines offering world-class service and amenities,” said Bret Catlin, VP, Loyalty, Alliances, and Sales, Alaska Airlines.  “We’re excited to make this announcement as we mark the beginning of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The large Filipino communities living in Hawai‘i, California and Washington state can travel on Philippine Airlines long-haul, widebody aircraft and soon earn valuable Mileage Plan miles on their transpacific journeys.”

“We are proud to partner with Alaska Airlines to deliver even greater value to our Mabuhay Miles members,” added Alvin M. Miranda, VP, Marketing, Philippine Airlines. “This strategic collaboration significantly expands our network and flight options, enabling our members to enjoy enhanced connectivity and flexibility in how and where they use their miles. It’s an exciting step forward in enriching the overall travel experience we offer.”

Philippine Airlines currently operates flights to Alaska Airline Group's hubs at Honolulu, Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The Manila-based airline will be Alaska Airlines' 32nd global partner.

The new partnership will add to Philippine Airlines' codeshare partnerships in the US including Hawaiian Airlines from Honolulu to four inter-island destinations within Hawaii (Hilo, Kona, Lihue, and Kahului), and with American Airlines from Los Angeles to the following cities in the US mainland – Atlanta, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando, and Washington DC-Reagan National.
