Citing a strong response since the launch of its five-times weekly flights between Seattle and Seoul Incheon, Alaska Airlines has revealed plans to expand its Seattle-Incheon flights from five-times weekly to six-times weekly this upcoming summer.
In a report from The Korea Times, Alaska Airlines managing director of partnerships and international Alex Judson described the response to the airline's Incheon route – launched in September 2025 - saying it is “exceeding expectations.” As a result, Judson stated Incheon is seen by Alaska Airlines as a key strategic city on its network.
According to the report, Alaska Airlines plans to increase its flights to six-times weekly during the summer. The airline currently operates five-weekly flights on the route using group carrier Hawaiian Airlines' Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
“Demand on the route is supported by robust leisure travel, strong corporate demand and a large Korean community across the U.S.,” Judson said. “For these reasons, Incheon is considered a key strategic city within Alaska Airlines’ network.”
As of January 31, more than 45,000 have traveled onboard its Seattle-Incheon flights since it was introduced according to Alaska Airlines' data.
For Alaska Airlines, Judson added the airline sees Incheon playing a bigger role in its future.
“Alaska Airlines sees strong potential for Incheon to serve as a gateway, enabling greater connectivity between the U.S., China and Southeast Asia,” Judson said.
