Adding to its orders for Airbus aircraft, China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC) has announced a firm order with the European aircraft manufacturer for 30 A320neo Family aircraft.
The Hong Kong-based aircraft leasing company stated the new orders for the 30 A320neo aircraft are scheduled for delivery through 2033. CALC will also have the conversion rights for other A320 Family variants.
With the new order, CLAC will bring its remaining orderbook of Airbus aircraft to 105 aircraft. One of the largest lessor clients of Airbus aircraft, CALC has ordered 282 aircraft – of which 203 are A320neo Family aircraft.
“Our partnership with Airbus started in 2012, and in 2014 we became the first Chinese lessor to place a direct bulk order with the company. While today’s order is another milestone in CALC’s journey to build a next-generation, future-ready fleet and solidify our position as one of the leading global aircraft lessors.” said Mike Poon, Executive Director and CEO of CALC. “With this order, CALC is reinforcing our strategic vision for sustainable growth and again demonstrating our confidence in the long-term prospects of global aviation. We are proud to grow alongside Airbus and continue providing our worldwide airline customers with high-value, modern aircraft solutions.”
“CALC has been a long-time valued partner of Airbus with its first order placed in 2012, and it's a privilege to see another repeat order,” said Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales of the Commercial Aircraft Business. “CALC’s deep understanding of the market and what its customers demand is a solid endorsement of the A320neo Family. This commitment reinforces their strength as a lessor with the most efficient, versatile, and in-demand single-aisle aircraft for their customers."
CALC placed its first order with Airbus in July 2012 for 36 A320ceo jets. Two years later in 2014, the company then placed a bulk order for 100 A320ceo and A320neo aircraft. CALC would go on to add more orders for 65 A320neo in 2017, followed by an order for 40 A321neo in 2020.
According to CALC's website, the company – the largest listed aircraft lessor in Asia – owns and manages 181 aircraft (as of June 2025). The company serves 41 airline customers in 22 countries and regions. CALC's fleet includes Airbus A319, A320/A321 family, and widebody aircraft.
