Cathay Pacific has reopened its popular lounge - “The Bridge” - at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).
The Hong Kong-based airline stated the reopening of The Bridge is the first stage of its plans to enhance its lounges both in Hong Kong and at destination airports.
Located near Gate 35 at HKIA Terminal 1, the redesigned The Bridge lounge features cherry wood, framed screens and black granite and travertine along with original artworks from the airline's “Gallery in the Skies” concept. Guests will have dining options including Cathay Pacific's Noodle Bar – which will include a new concept called The Nook – the Food Hall for international offerings, and The Bar which features views of the runway.
In addition, The Bridge will be the first Cathay Pacific lounge to use a biometric check-in system along with the traditional check-in system. The lounge will also feature a dedicated private space for First Class and Cathay Diamond members while being looked after by the Cathay team.
Lounge Upgrade Plans
The reopening of The Bridge is part of the Cathay Group's plans to invest over HKD $100 billion (~USD $12.8 billion) in lounge upgrades along with new aircraft, cabin products, and digital innovations. The airline plans to launch of new flagship lounges in Hong Kong, Beijing, and New York.
Cathay Pacific is currently preparing for the renovation of The Wing, First – which will close on May 23 and reopen in 2026. Then, the The Wing, Business.
During the renovation of The Wing, First, another Business class lounge – The Deck – is also being enhanced. From May 21, the The Deck will serve as the temporary First Class lounge during the renovation works. Eligible customers can also continue visiting The Pier, First and The Pier, Business during this time.
