To cater to the anticipated increase in travel demand during the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year holiday period, the Changi Airport Group (CAG) announced that six airlines will offer over 600 supplementary flights to around 15 cities in Mainland China during the travel period.

In a statement from the CAG, the six airlines that will be increasing their flights during the holiday period are Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, Loong Air, Spring Airlines, and Xiamen Airlines. Three of the airlines – Air China, China Eastern, Xiamen Air – will operate more than 140 additional flights to the 15 cities which will include Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Hefei, Nanchang, Nanjing, Ningbo, Shanghai, Wenzhou, Wuhan, Xi’an, Xiamen, Zhengzhou. The cities that will be served by supplemental flights from Singapore for the first time during the holiday period are Nanchang, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Wuhan, and Zhengzhou.

The CAG added this year's increase in supplementary flights between Singapore and Mainland China will be more than double compared to 2025.

“The doubling of flight capacity between China and Singapore this Lunar New Year reflects the strong travel demand we continue to see between China and Singapore, as well as the close partnerships we have built with our airline partners,” said Lim Ching Kiat, Executive Vice President for Air Hub and Cargo Development, Changi Airport Group. “The extended services, including to several cities receiving supplementary flights for the first time, will further strengthen Singapore’s position as a key gateway to China.”

Along with the extra flights, travelers will be able to enjoy extended early check-in at Changi Airport Terminals 1 and 3 during the month of February. The Changi Lounge will be open 24/7 from 6AM February 17 until 10PM on March 4, and the Jewel Rain Vortex will have longer operating hours – operating until 12 midnight each day from February 1 to March 3.

From Singapore, travelers can take flights to 37 cities in Mainland China. Both China and Singapore have mutual visa-free agreements.
