After earlier reports, Delta Airlines announced it will resume its direct route between Los Angeles and Hong Kong next summer.
From June 6, 2026, Delta will operate daily flights on the Los Angeles-Hong Kong route – a route it previously served in 2018. Delta will use its Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the route featuring four cabin classes – lie flat Delta One beds, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main.
The resumption of the Los Angeles-Hong Kong route was announced along with the launch of thrice-daily flights between Los Angeles and Chicago O'Hare on June 7, 2026.
“Launching service to Hong Kong and Chicago from LAX strengthens our presence in two of the world’s most dynamic markets,” said Paul Baldoni, SVP of Network Planning, Delta. “As the largest global carrier at LAX, we’re continuing to invest in routes that matter to our customers and deliver the premium travel experience that they’ve come to expect from Delta.”

Hong Kong will be the fifth destination in Asia Delta will operate. The Atlanta-based carrier currently operates flights to Seoul Incheon, Tokyo Haneda, Taipei Taoyuan, and Shanghai Pudong. Among the recently additions routes are Los Angeles-Shanghai and Salt Lake City-Incheon which were launched in June 2025.
Delta currently operates flights from Los Angeles to three of the airline's destinations in Asia (Seoul, Tokyo, and Shanghai).
