The Dubai International Airport (DXB) saw the busiest year in its history after serving over 95 million passengers in 2025, and achieved multiple milestones during the same period.

DXB airport operator Dubai Airports said the record 95.2 million passengers served in 2025 represents a 3.1% increase compared to the prior year. The airport also saw its busiest month during December 2025, with 8.7 million passengers served – a 6.1% year-on-year increase. 4Q 2025 was also the busiest quarter for DXB with 25.1 million passengers – a 5.9% year-on-year increase.

In 2024, DXB served 92.3 million passengers.

DXB also saw its busiest day and month in 2025. Total flight movements at DXB reached 118,000 during 4Q 2025 (+5% year-on-year), bringing the annual total flight movements for 2025 to 454,800 (+3.3% year-on-year).

“Despite continued growth in movements, average passengers per movement remained strong at 214, reflecting sustained deployment of larger aircraft and high load efficiency. The annual load factor stood at 77.6%, a marginal adjustment of 0.5 percentage points.”

In addition to the passenger traffic data, DXB reported a 4.95% year-on-year increase of bags managed handling 86.75 million bags last year.

India as Largest Market, London Most Traveled Destination

By the end of 2025, DXB was connected by 108 airlines to 291 destinations across 110 countries.

According to Dubai Airports, India retained its position as the largest country market to/from DXB with 11.9 passengers. India was followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with 7.5 million, the United Kingdom (UK) with 6.3 million, Pakistan with 4.3 million, and the United States (US) with 3.3 million.

London continues to be DXB's largest destination city with 3.9 million passengers, followed by Riyadh with 3 million, Mumbai and Jeddah with 2.4 million each, and Delhi with 2.2 million.

Among the markets Dubai Airport highlight for their growth include China with 2.5 million (+16.6%), Russia with 2.8 million (+6%), Turkey with 2.2 million (+6.7%), Egypt with 1.8 million (+14.3%), and Italy with 1.6 million (+12.5%).

Going forward, Dubai Airports estimates passenger traffic at DXB will approach 99.5 million in 2026.

“With demand continuing to build and capacity carefully managed, Dubai’s airports are entering a phase where performance is defined not by how high it can surge, but by how reliably it can sustain growth while consistently delivering a superior guest experience. As traffic patterns evolve, the complementary role of Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International (DWC) will continue to expand, ensuring the emirate remains prepared for the next era of global aviation.”
