From June 1, Emirates will launch a second daily flight between Dubai and Copenhagen. EK153 will depart for Dubai to Copenhagen at 1450H and arrive at 1945H. The return flight – EK154 – will depart Copenhagen at 2135H and arrive back at Dubai at 0555H the following morning.
From July 1, a third daily Dubai-Phuket service will be launched. EK390 will depart Dubai at 2240H and arrive at 0810H the following morning.The return flight – EK391 – will depart Phuket at 1000H and arrive at Dubai at 1305H.
On the same day as the launch of the third daily Dubai-Phuket service, Emirates will also launch a third daily flight to Cape Town. EK778 will depart Dubai at 1025H and arrive at Cape Town at 1805H. The return flight – EK779 – will depart Cape Town at 2000H before arriving at 0725H the following morning.
According to Emirates, the current twice-daily flights to Cape Town has seen consistently high load factors over the past year especially during peak periods. Inbound demand from the GCC continues to grow, while outbound traffic to Europe and the US East Coast remains strong.
Retrofitted Aircraft with New Premium Economy Deployments
Emirates has announced a new series of destinations that will see the deployment of its retrofitted 777s and new A350s featuring its new Premium Economy seats over the next few months.
Europe
From February 1, the airline will use its retrofitted 777-300ER on its flights to Barcelona (EK187/EK188). In addition, EK255/EK256 – the linked service between Barcelona and Mexico City – will use a retrofitted 777-200LR from February 15.
Rome will see the deployment of the A350 on flights EK99/Ek100 from March 29, along with the announced second daily flight to Copenhagen from June 1.
Asia
Along with the third daily flight to Phuket, Emirates will operate its retrofitted 777-200LR on its daily flights to Taipei (EK386/EK387) from March 15. The A350 will then replace the 777 on the route from May 1.
Emirates will deploy a retrofitted 777-200LR on two of the seven-weekly flights to Cochin from January 29 (EK530/EK531), and on the daily flights to Karachi (EK606/EK607) from March 1.
Australia
To Brisbane, Emirates will deploy a retrofitted four-class 777-300ER on EK430/EK431. The 777-300ER will add to the service currently operated by the retrofitted A380.
Africa
Besides the additional third flight to Cape Town, Emirates will deploy a retrofitted 3-class 777-200LR on daily flights to Addis Ababa (EK723/EK724).
Middle East
Emirates will deploy a retrofitted four-class 777-300ER one a week (Thursday) on EK947/EK948 to Basra. EK859/EK860 – which operates daily to Kuwait City – will see the deployment of a retrofitted 777 from February 1 before upgraded to the A350 from May 1. A retrofitted four-class 777 will deployed on daily flights to Tehran (EK979/EK980) from March 29.
