The national airline of Abu Dhabi announced the new service to Calgary will start on November 3 with four weekly flights (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday). Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will be used on the route.
From Abu Dhabi, EY29 will depart for Calgary at 0845H before arriving at 1200H. The return flight EY30 will depart at 1805H and arrive back at Abu Dhabi at 1900H.
In a statement, Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer, Etihad said: “The launch of our Abu Dhabi–Calgary service is both a significant and historic step in Etihad's global expansion. By creating the only nonstop link between the Middle East and Western Canada, we are opening new opportunities for trade, tourism and investment, while giving travellers direct access to two distinctive and globally important destinations.”

The new route to Calgary will be Etihad's fifth route to North America. Currently operating flights to Toronto, New York-JFK, and Chicago-O'Hare, Etihad will also launch a new route to Charlotte on March 20.
