Etihad announced it will be the first Middle East-based airline to launch flights to Luxembourg.

From October 29, Etihad will operate three weekly flights (Monday, Thursday, Saturday) between its hub at Abu Dhabi and Luxembourg which will also serve the Benelux region, France and Germany.

Using Airbus A321LR aircraft featuring Etihad's First Suites and lie-flat Business seats, EY51 will depart Abu Dhabi at 0245H and arrive at Luxemburg at 0655H. The return flight – EK52 – will depart 0935H and arrive back at Abu Dhabi at 1905H.

In a statement, Etihad Chief Executive Officer Antonoaldo Neves stated the new route is made possible with the launch of its A321LR last year. Neves stated the aircraft allows Etihad to bring guests a “truly premium experience” while catering to markets which may be unserved.

“This route is about more than connectivity – it is about building new bridges between Europe and the UAE, unlocking opportunities for business, tourism and cultural exchange,” Neves said. “Travellers from Luxembourg can look forward to convenient direct access to Abu Dhabi’s world-class attractions, luxury hotels and authentic Arabian experiences, while benefiting from seamless onward connections across our global network.”

According to Neves and Etihad, the new flights to Luxembourg are timed to serve both leisure and business markets. Customers can also make onwards connections across Etihad's network from Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport.
