From October 1, Etihad will start the operations of the A350 on its flights between Abu Dhabi and Sydney on three select days per week before an increase to 10 weekly flights on January 31, 2026.
Currently served with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, the A350 will initially be used on its flights operating as EY454/EY455. From January 31, 2026, all flights to/from Sydney (EY450/EY451 and EY454/EY455) will be operated using the A350.
With the deployment of the A350 to Sydney, Etihad states the move will increase its overall seat capacity on the route by 10%. The Premium seat capacity will also be increased by 20%.
As Etihad deploys its A350 to Sydney, it will operate daily flights to Melbourne using Boeing 787-89 Dreamliner aircraft.
