Garuda Indonesia announces domestic flight frequency increases

To help attract tourists to visit various destinations across Indonesia, Garuda Indonesia has announced it will increase flight frequencies on 16 domestic routes this summer.

“Amid the optimism in the growth of the global tourism industry, the increase of flight frequency is one of the stimuli for people’s traveling trend,” Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfan Setiaputra said in a written statement to Tempo.co.

The routes and the flight frequencies are as follows:

  • Palembang (from 24 to 32 flights per week)

  • Yogyakarta (from 28 to 35 flights per week)

  • Pontianak (from 13 to 19 flights per week)

  • Batam (from 14 to 21 flights per week)

  • Pekanbaru (from 14 to 21 flights per week)

  • Padang (from 14 to 19 flights per week)

  • Semarang (from 21 to  26 flights per week) 

  • Balikpapan (from 14 to 19 flights per week) 

  • Makassar (from 17 to 21 flights per week)

  • Banda Aceh (from 14 to 15 flights per week)

  • Pangkalpinang (from 7 to 9 flights per week)

  • Tanjung Pinang (from 6 to 7 flights per week) 

  • Malang (from 4 to 7 flights per week)

  • Denpasar-Labuan Bajo (from 1 to 3 flights per week) 

  • Lombok (from 12 to 16 flights per week)

  • Makassar-Gorontalo (from 5 to 7 flights per week)

In addition to the flight frequency increases, Garuda Indonesia will introduce its new route between Jakarta and Doha, Qatar with seven weekly flights on April 4. The airline will then launch twice-weekly flights between Makassar and Manado on May 3.
