The Hong Kong international Airport (HKIA) announced the opening of a new “high-end dual-city” terminal for travelers departing from HKIA in Macao.

Located in the MGM Cotai, the “MGM Hong Kong International Airport City Terminal” now provides self-service check-in, flight information, and different cross-boundary transport services between HKIA and Zhuhai Airport.

Open daily between 0900H to 1830H, travelers can travel to HKIA from the city terminal via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in around 90 minutes, and 60 minutes to the Zhuhai Airport.

The new terminal is part of a collaboration between Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), Zhuhai Airport, MGM, and China Travel Tours Transportation Services Hong Kong Limited.

“HKIA has been extending the intermodal service network for years, to cover major cities on the western part of the GBA and now further to the Macao market,” said Vivian Chueng, Chief Executive Officer, Airport Authority of Hong Kong. “Since the opening of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the number of Macao travellers flying at HKIA has been on the rise. This new premium city terminal will help expand our high-end customer base and further enhance our connectivity with Macao. We will continue to develop our intermodal services, aiming to increase the number of city terminals to 50 by 2027 and attracting more GBA travellers to use HKIA.”

According to HKIA, eligible travelers using intermodal services to transfer at HKIA can also appluy for refund of the Air Passenger Departure Tax.
