As part of its widebody aircraft network adjustments, IndiGo will suspend operations to Copenhagen and reduce its flights to Manchester and London.
According to IndiGo, external operational constraints such as changing airspace constraints due to geopolitical circumstances and congestion at airports – both in India and abroad – have resulted flight and block times. It has led to a strain on the airline's schedule for the six wet-leased Boeing 787-9s from Norse Atlantic Airways.
From February 17, IndiGo will suspend its operations to/from Copenhagen until further notice. The airline currently operates three weekly flights on the Delhi-Copenhagen route.
IndiGo will reduce services on both its Delhi-Manchester route. From February 7, the flight frequencies on the route will be reduced from five to four-times weekly. It will then be reduced to three-times weekly from February 19. After the adjustments IndiGo will operate 7 weekly flights to Manchester – down from 9 weekly. The airline currently operates four weekly flights between Mumbai and Manchester.
“This scale adjustment was originally planned to be introduced in the Summer Schedule 2026; however, it is being executed earlier to ensure reliability to the rest of IndiGo’s long-haul operations”
From February 9, IndiGo will reduce its flights between Delhi and London Heathrow from five to four-times weekly.
“IndiGo regrets that the prevailing circumstances have affected the airline’s operational
reliability on its 787-9 routes. By making these adjustments to its schedule the airline
strives to improve reliability of its long-haul services and reduce disruption to connecting itineraries booked by its customers. IndiGo will continue monitoring these external developments and flexibly scale its network up or down to align with evolving conditions.”
