JAL to operate extra flights, deploy 777-300ER to Honolulu during peak travel periods

Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced plans to boost its flights and seat capacity to Honolulu, which will include the deployment of its Boeing 777-300ER featuring its JAL SUITE during peak travel periods.


During the Golden Week holiday period (April 24-May 9) and before and after the Honolulu Marathon (December 11 and December 15), JAL will operate extra flights between Tokyo Narita and Honolulu (JL8782/JL8781) using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. 


Between December 25 through January 10, 2027, JAL will operate the 777-300ER on its flights between Tokyo Haneda and Honolulu (JL72/JL71/JL72). 


According to JAL, the number of flights operated with larger aircraft has increased more than a fourfold compared to last year. 


The Tokyo-based airline added that with the launch of its new Narita-Delhi and Naha-Taipei routes, its international flight operations will increase to 101% compared to last year.
