Jetstar has announced it will add its 10th route to the Indonesian resort destination of Denpasar (Bali) from Newcastle, Australia.


From October 21, the Qantas Group's budget arm will launch its new thrice-weekly service (Outbound: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday/Inbound: Monday, Wednesday, Friday) between Newcastle and Denpasar. Using Airbus A321LR aircraft, the new route will provide more than 70,000 seats per year between the two destinations.


The new Newcastle-Denpasar route will be the first international air route from Newcastle since 2020, and will reduce the need for connecting flights to the popular Indonesian resort destination.


In a statement, Steph Tully, CEO, Jetstar Group. “Jetstar is committed to making travel more accessible, and people living in and around Newcastle will no longer need to drive to other airports to fly overseas, which means more time and money can go toward their holiday.”


Between Australia and Denpasar, the airline operates flights from – Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, and Darwin. In addition, the airline operates Fifth Freedom flights between Denpasar and Singapore. From August 1, Jetstar will add a 9th route – between Gold Coast and Denpasar.  


Located around 150 kilometers north of Sydney along the eastern coast of the Australian state of New South Wales, Newcastle is the second biggest city in the state.
