In a step towards the full integration of South Korea-based Hanjin Group's three budget airline brands, Jin Air announced the launch of domestic codeshare sales and operations with Air Busan.
The codeshare operations between Jin Air and Air Busan covers three domestic routes – Gimpo-Busan, Busan-Jeju, and Jeju-Ulsan. Customers will be able to book flights operated by Air Busan via Jin Air's website and app, with the addition of Jin Air's LJ flight code.
A Jin Air representative was quoted saying: “This codeshare will not only strengthen route competitiveness but also enhance customer convenience and network efficiency, creating a positive synergy effect.” The representative added, “We will continue to diligently prepare for integration in other areas as well, building a solid foundation for the successful launch of the integrated LCC.”
As part of the Korean Air-Asiana merger, the Hanjin Group announced plans to integrate the two full service brands Korean Air and Asiana Airlines into Korean Air by year's end. The three budget airlines - Jin Air, Air Busan, and Air Seoul - will become an integrated Jin Air by the first quarter of 2026.
