Lufthansa is expanding its presence in Southeast Asia with the announcement of a new route between Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur.
From October 25, Lufthansa will operate five weekly flights (daily except Tuesday and Thursday) between the two cities. The outbound flight LH704 will depart Frankfurt at 2130H and arrive at Kuala Lumpur the following day at 1640H. The return flight LH705 will depart Kuala Lumpur later in the evening at 2355H and arrive at 0600H the following morning back at Frankfurt.
Lufthansa will use its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft featuring its new Allegris cabin on the newly announced route.
Kuala Lumpur will be Lufthansa Group's fourth destination in Southeast Asia along with Bangkok, Singapore, and Phuket.
"With the new nonstop connection to Kuala Lumpur and the deployment of our state-of-the-art Dreamliner, we are creating ideal conditions to participate in the growth in Southeast Asia,” said Jens Retter, Lufthansa Airlines CEO. “The innovative Allegris cabin offers our guests the highest level of comfort and underscores our premium aspiration to offer both leisure and business travelers a first-class travel experience."
The new route will be the lone connection between Malaysia and Germany – a country which is Malaysia's most important trading partner in the European Union. Over 700 German companies are based in Malaysia.
