International visitors arriving who are planning to travel onwards to Macao after arriving at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) can now take a free bus upon their arrival at HKIA this year.
The new bus service was announced by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) as part of a partnership with the Hong Kong-Macao bus service operator Hong Kong & Macao International Airport Transportation Service Company Limited (Macau HK Airport Direct) to provide free bus tickets from the restricted area of HKIA. The free bus ticket promotion started on January 20 and will end on December 31.
Upon arrival, eligible international visitors from outside the Greater China region can complete the required formalities at the designated counter in the restricted area to obtain free one-way bus tickets for direct transfer fro the SkyPier Terminal to Macao via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Advanced bookings can also be made on the bus service operator's website.
As part of efforts to increase visits to Macao, the Macao SAR previously had similar promotions run in 2024 and 2025.
