Malaysia Airlines is extending the temporary suspension of its Kuala Lumpur-Doha service until June 14.


In a statement posted on April 2, the Malaysian flag carrier stated the extension follows a risk assessment which indicated that the “security situation in the region remains unchanged.” The airline is closely monitoring the situation on the route – suspended since February 28 - through the ongoing risk assessments on the route and Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs).


All other services to to Europe and the Middle East – including flights to Jeddah, Madinah, London Heathrow, and Paris Charles de Gaulle – are operating as scheduled.


In response to current situation in the Middle East, Malaysia Airlines has increased widebody capacity between Asia and Europe since March 12. Flights are operating on planned alternative routes to avoid affected regions.
