Following what it says have been “encouraging load factors and sustained demand,” Malaysia Airlines announced it will increase its flights between Kuala Lumpur and the southern Indian city of Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram).
The Malaysian flag carrier announced it will add a fifth weekly flight on the Kuala Lumpur-Trivandrum route from September 12 before going daily on December 1.
Malaysia Airlines stated the move reflects the route's “impressive growth” since its launch of flights to Trivandrum in November 2023. Initially launched with two weekly flights, Malaysia Airlines expanded the services to four-times weekly in April 2024.
“With the introduction of daily flights to Trivandrum from December, we are well-positioned to provide both leisure and business travellers with greater flexibility and convenience, while supporting trade and tourism flows between our two countries,” said Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines, Malaysia Aviation Group.
Trivandrum is part of the network of 10 cities in India Malaysia Airlines currently operates direct flights to from its hub at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). With the additional flights to Trivandrum, Malaysia Airlines will increase its flights to 80 weekly to India before year's end – up from the current 77 weekly flights.
