Passengers flying with more airlines from Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) are now able to use the recently installed self check-in kiosks and automated boarding gates at the airport's three passenger terminal buildings.

As part of the new automated passenger processing program introduced by airport operator New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC), more airlines have joined the program which allows passengers traveling with select airlines to check-in for their flights on the kiosks, use the automated Pre-Security screening gates, and Self-Boarding gates.

The system is available for the following airlines and passenger categories:

Terminal 1:

  • Philippine Airlines: International flights excluding those to the Middle East and Japan

  • Asiana Airlines: Korean nationals and foreign passengers without visa requirements

Terminal 2:

  • Domestic flights on Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia

Terminal 3:

  • Cebu Pacific: Domestic and International flights

  • AirAsia: International flights

  • United Airlines: Foreign passengers without visa requirements

  • Qatar Airways: All Passengers

  • Air Canada: All Passengers

Eligible passengers using the system can check-in, print boarding passes and baggage tags, clear initial security, and board flights through automated lanes. With the goal to reduce queuing times and congestion at traditional manned counters, a phased activation of automated Bag Drop features is also ongoing. NNIC also stated additional airlines and routes will be enabled in the coming months as integration work continues.

“These systems are already operational, and we are seeing more airlines come on board as integration is completed,” New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), the airport’s private operator, said. “As participation expands, more passengers will be able to move through check-in, security, and boarding more efficiently.”

The automated processing systems are part of NNIC's efforts to improve passenger flow and align airport operations with biometric-enabled standards used at other major international hubs across the world.
