Nauru Airlines – the national airline of the Pacific island nation of Nauru – has added Clark, Philippines to its network
In announcements from the Clark International Airport and The Government of the Republic of Nauru (Nauru), Nauru Airlines first flight to Clark – located 80km north of Manila – took place on September 5. The once-weekly flight to Clark is part of Nauru Airlines' Australia-North Pacific Connector linking seven destinations – Brisbane, Nauru, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Pohnpei, Koror (Palau), and Clark.
The new route is expected to enhance opportunities for passengers, cargo, and ACMI operations. It will also provide better connectivity for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and labor movements across the Asia-Pacific.
“Adding the Republic of the Philippines to our network is a key development for us,” said Nauru Airlines CEO Robert Eoe.
“Clark International Airport is a strategically important gateway and a natural fit for our expansion into Asia. We look forward to unlocking new revenue opportunities, and offering even greater passenger, ACMI and cargo opportunities to our customers,” Eoe added.
First launched as Air Nauru in 1970, Nauru Airlines currently operates a fleet of seven Boeing 737 aircraft (-300,-700, and -800s). Of the seven aircraft, three are dedicated freighters. In addition to regularly scheduled passenger flights, Nauru Airilnes operates charter flights from Australia, New Zealand, the South/Central Pacific, and Asia.
