Indonesian airline Pelita Air launched its first international flight to Singapore today (August 18).


According to flightradar24, the inaugural Pelita Air flight between Jakarta Soekarno–Hatta International Airport to Singapore Changi Airport – IP88 – departed Jakarta and arrived in Singapore in the morning. The return flight – IP89 - departed Singapore before noon.


Pelita Air's daily Jakarta-Singapore service will see the deployment of its Airbus A320 aircraft on the route. The arrivals/departures at Singapore will be at Changi Airport Terminal 4.


Between the two cities, Pelita Air joins several other Indonesia and Singapore-based airlines operating flights on the route including Singapore Airlines/Scoot, Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia AirAsia, Batik Air, and TransNusa.


Originally launched in 1970 to support Indonesia's oil and natural gas industry, Pelita Air now operates regularly scheduled domestic flights and charter services within Indonesia using fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.
