Philippine Airlines welcomed Southeast Asia's first, highly-anticipated delivery of the Airbus A350-1000.
The Manila, Philippines-based airlines' first widebody A350-1000 – registration RP-C3510 – arrived at Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport after its delivery flight from Airbus' facility at Toulouse, France on the afternoon of December 20.
According to Philippine Airlines, the new aircraft will be used on its trans-Pacific routes, and support its long-term global growth strategy.
“The arrival of the A350-1000 marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to fleet modernization and network growth. It will be a source of Filipino pride and a transformational step for our airline,” said Lucio Tan III, President, PAL Holdings Inc.
With a sticker commemorating Philippine Airlines' upcoming 85thanniversary celebration in 2026, the A350-1000 features a tri-class cabin with 382 seats – 42 private suites in Business, 24 Premium Economy, and 316 in Economy. The aircraft is equipped with two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines.
Philippine Airlines has nine A350-1000s on order, with an additional purchase rights for three more of the widebody aircraft. After the delivery of the the A350-1000, Philippine Airlines' fleet now comprises of 82 aircraft. In addition to the -1000, the airline also operates 2 A350-900s.
Five more A350-1000s are expected to be delivered to Philippine Airlines during the year 2026, followed by three more in 2027.
In a report by aeroroutes, Philippine Airlines has scheduled to use the A350-1000s on its first flight to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi on December 30. It will be followed by other cities such as Hong Kong, New York-JFK, and Singapore over the next few weeks.
