Qantas has announced it will extend its seasonal service between Perth and Rome, and will add an extra weekly flight on the route during the northern summer season 2026 (southern winter).

According to the Mascot, Australia-based airline, the seasonal Perth-Rome service will be extended an additional eight weeks in 2026. The flights are scheduled to be operated from May 3 through October 23, 2026.

With a three-times weekly (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) schedule, an extra weekly flight (Sunday) will be operated on the route between June 27 through September 26, 2026.

With the extension, 40 extra flights and 10,000 seats will be offered between Perth and Australia and Rome by Qantas next summer.

“As over half the customers on our Rome flights originate from the east of Australia, our Italian flights are timed to connect seamlessly in Perth with our domestic services from the east coast,” said Cam Wallace, CEO, Qantas International. “Almost doubling our capacity means even more Australians can experience our non-stop European routes, which have some of the highest customer satisfaction scores on our international network.”

First launched in 2022, the Perth-Rome route was Qantas' first non-stop flight connecting Australia and the European continent. The airline reported it has served over 70,000 passengers between the two cities.

From Perth, Qantas operates flights to London Heathrow, Paris, Rome, and Singapore. New non-stop flights from Perth to both Johannesburg and Auckland will be started this December.
