Qatar Airways to increase flights to 15 cities including London, Phuket, and Tokyo

Qatar Airways announced it will increase its flights to over 15 destinations including London, Phuket, Tokyo, Frankfurt, and Toronto this winter season.


According to the Doha, Qatar-based carrier, the airline is facilitating demand for its services for travellers from around the world through its Doha-hub.


Among the highlights of the service increases will be the addition of a 10th daily flight to London Heathrow – its highest-ever frequency. Currently with eight daily flights to Heathrow, Qatar Airways' services on the route are complemented by British Airways' double daily flights.


Within Asia, Qatar Airways will increase its flights to Phuket from three daily flights to up to four daily. Services to Tokyo Narita will be increased from 11-times weekly to up to 14 weekly.


The complete list of destinations that will see service increases by Qatar Airways this winter are as follows:


Middle East

Abu Dhabi – 5-tmes weekly to up to 6-times daily

Sharjah – 3-times daily to up to 7 daily


East/ Southeast Asia

Phuket– 3-times daily to up to 4 daily

Tokyo Narita – 11-times weekly to up to 14 weekly


Africa/Indian Ocean 

Cape Town – 10-times weekly to up to 12 weekly

Casablanca– 4-times weekly to 5 weekly

Johannesburg– 14-times weekly to 18 weekly

Maldives– 3-times daily to 4 daily


Europe

Berlin– 18-times weekly to up to 21 weekly

Dublin– 14-times weekly to 17 weekly

Frankfurt– 18-times weekly to 21 weekly

London-Heathrow– 8-times daily to up to 10 daily

Madrid– 14-times weekly to 17 weekly

Manchester– 21-times weekly to up to 21 weekly


North/South America 

Sao Paulo – 14-times weekly to 18 weekly

Toronto– 5-weekly to 7 weekly


According to Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori stated the airline has seen a “steady rise” in demand to destinations including London, Dublin, Cape Town, and Sao Paulo.


Antionori also highlighted planned future increases of its services to Australia with Virgin Australia's upcoming launch of flights from Melbourne to Doha in partnership with Qatar Airways. Qatar Airways will also restart flights to Australia's capital city Canberra.
